1st Soccer Game

So, after 8 weeks on the disabled list, Hallie was finally able to suit up and put shin guards and cleats on both the left and the right. We were all as excited as she was to get to the field. Sure it's hard to be unbiased but wow, did that kid do a great job! 8 weeks with no activity at all only left her to tire a little easily.

We were worried that her foot was hurting her at one point but realized it was most likely that the newly donned cleat was hardly broken in and was a little stiff. Coach had her sit out for a quarter and she was ready to go. Mom was particularly surprised at how well she did remembering not to use her hands. This game had been the talk of the week and was also 'The Big Game' because they were playing her best friend's team (as evidenced by the fact that they began to chat downfield about 30 seconds before the end of the game). Their team didn't win but it was a great game and we had such a good time watching Hallie play.

The team pool party afterward that lasted into the evening topped off a near perfect day. It was nice that the kids get along so well and the parents had the opportunity to relax and enjoy good company. There will be no game on Halloween but Hallie gets to play in 3 more games which works out to be exactly half the season and she's VERY excited.

Go Soccer Sharks!!!
