All Hallows Eve again came in 3 parts (with a couple sub
sections) this year. Mickey's Halloween Trick-or-Treat party, Family Fun Night and Halloween itself (subsections being preschool parades and pizza parties). Each was different than last year and ultimately more fun having 2 girls with the stamina and interest to enjoy the many activities. The early date for Mickey's party has proved to make for a better event for us, however,
the new arrangements for this year, made it not so sweet. It was probably reinvented for the
subsequent nights or we hope it was. It was a good plan in theory, but in execution was very un-Disney. Because of the delay and hassle, we only had about 2 1/2 hours for the event. We trick-or-treated and posed with some characters and chose to spend some time in line for Toy Story Mania and monsters Inc. but we would have preferred to have our whole 4 hours. Maybe next year the girls will have time to boogie down in the party areas.

Family Fun night at school was a great event. It made Halloween last the longest for Anna who had been dressed up earlier at her school parade. Carnival games, food, a parade and classroom trick-or-treating kept Hallie busy with her friends, Mom busy with PTA and Dad busy keeping an eye on 'the Little Chef'.Usually Halloween is a come home from school-scarf down dinner-get dressed-go out out fast kinda night. With the holiday finally falling on a non-work day, we had time for the extras. We carved our Jack O'Lantern, slathered apples with caramel and decorated sugar-coma inducing brownies for after dinner. We watched Halloween movies and read stories while things were cooking. We trunk-or-treated at church for an hour or so, saw good friends and enjoyed the girls going off with their friends for a bit. There were even crafts for the kids this year. With a piece of candy each to tide them over, the pirate and the chef took Mom and Dad home for a dinner of Meatloaf Man and Mashed Scientist (oh, and a bit more candy) Yum!!! All in all, it was a pretty festive and successful holiday for us all this year. Now the challenge will be to put away all the Halloween stuff before December.......
